Goose Bump Music

Every day, I will post a music clip here that is special. Because it makes the hair on my neck stand up or because it makes me weak in the knees or it make me feel the anger. Or for some other reason.

My Vienna

Our 91 year-old family friend texts on his Handy (cellphone) with the help of a magnifying glass.

Classic. I can only hope to be so with it, should I live to be 91.

    Google Street Road Trip Footage
A lot of people have asked me how I created that background footage of Google Street View whizzing by in this most recent College Humor cartoon. The answer is simple: Hundreds and hundreds of Google Street screenshots. You’re probably wondering if that took a long time. Yes it did… and yet somehow I gathered even more “footage” than I ended up using. So instead of letting it go to waste, I made this fun little music video. Take us away, Chuck…

Kings of Convenience - ‘What If Justin Timberlake…’ @ Paradiso Amsterdam, 11 October 2009

I get the feeling I missed out on something special.

  • Permalink This is kind of cool, as it refers to this post, although it’s what the Danes refer to as ‘self-spin’, an expression made up about the phenomenon of when the media analyse the media. Very post-modern indeed. Nothing personal Mr. Hepburn, hope you ventures are faring well.

Duffy vs. the Police - ‘Mercy for Roxanne’

    Remarkable mashup.

Ever since unfollowing Sade, Ned Hepburn and one or two other folks, I can walk away from the tumblr and check back in two days later only to have to browse back a few pages to catch up. So good of all of you to not just post every fleeting thought you might have!

Yesterday, I bought a Mini-DVI to DVI cable, a DVI to HDMI cable and a 2-sided mini-jack cable. I can now connect my MacBook to my flatscreen TV. Ultimate nerd-dom: watching downloaded episodes of 30 Rock and Mad Men from my laptop, on a 32 inch screen. Worth every euro (there were 70 to be paid in total, so it hurt a little).

“Then there is the miraculous Hamm, playing the lead character, Don Draper. Here is an actor who at once projects sexual mastery and ironic intelligence, poise and vulnerability. That alchemy has created the greatest male stars, from Gable to Grant to Bogart to McQueen to Clooney, because it wins for them both the desire of women and the fondness of men. So the show’s white-hotness was all but predetermined.”
You MUST read this. It is by far my favorite thing ever written about the show.

I love reading scholarly articles about popular culture, and I really liked this one. But truth be told, I’ll read pretty much anything I can get my hands on if it’s Mad Men-related.

Does the article also deal with phenomenon that Hamm looks like a total dweeb when he doesn’t have his hair Drapered, and he wears normal people clothes?

Arctic Monkeys - ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ (live at Glastonbury)

My newestest addiction. I had been running to ‘I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor’ and ‘Brianstorm’ for quite a while, but when ‘Humbug’ came out I decided to check them out some more. Fuck are they good. And they are only 23 now. Alex Turner, the singer, has 3 Arctic Monkeys albums to his name and one with his side project, The Last Shadow Puppets. His song writing, singing, and guitar playing are exceptional too.

Did I mention I got tickets for their 11 november Amsterdam show?
