My U.N. Neighborhood
U.N. headquarters is actually a complex of buildings, but most people think of the iconic Secretariat Building as “the U.N. building.”
Completed in 1950 (talk about mid-century!), it was designed mainly by two foremost architects of the time — Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer.
Here, the Chrysler Building is reflected on its glass facade.
Niemeyer and Le Corbusier huh? That is pretty revolutionary. The former is still with us at 102 years old!
